A lovely, simple, and heartfelt tale, the film is typically Iranian in its telling of a father who wrestles with his conscience as he begins to see his son as a burden interfering with his happiness and success. Hollywood blockbuster audiences will find this simple film underdone sentimentalism. Film purists and those undaunted by cultural differences will appreciate its pastoral and lyrical beauty.
