Our notes
Our Christmas film this year is probably the most heartwarming of all the MGM musicals. Nostalgia and idealisation of family life make this charming turn-of-the-century musical famous for its classic songs and the brilliant performances of Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien. The "boy-next-door" theme has never been played out with such satisfying results.
