..// book tickets

Enjoy an intimate evening with a man who has won an Oscar not once but on three separate occasions. Join Anthony Powell as he reminisces on a lifetime in the film industry. As one of the greatest costume designers in the history of film he has worked with directors Steven Spielberg, Roman Polanski, David Lean, Robert Altman, George Lucas and many others. He has designed costumes for and dressed many of the greatest actors including Sean Connery, Bette Davis, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Ava Gardner, Sir John Gielgud, Glenn Close, Dustin Hoffman, James Mason, Steve McQueen, Roger Moore, Sir Ralph Richardson, Julia Roberts, Dame Maggie Smith and Peter Ustinov and many more.

This will be an evening of film clips, personal recollection, revelations and many inside stories of some of the great films that he has worked on including Tess, Papillon, Death on the Nile, the Indiana Jones films, 101 and 102 Dalmatians, Hook, Royal Hunt of the Sun and Miss Potter. He will happily answer questions from the audience during the course of the evening.

We anticipate high demand for places for this evening and are asking that members book their tickets for the evening as soon as possible. Tickets for members will be free. Members will be able to bring one guest at a cost of £4.00 but the guest must be booked and paid for in advance.

Doors to Queen's Hall Theatre will open at 7.00.pm. There will be the usual bar facilities and the Evening with Anthony Powell will begin at 7.30 pm and finish around 9.30 pm.

Your committee is excited and delighted to offer this very special evening to members as Anthony Powell is not only a highly talented Oscar winner but also a great raconteur.

Please note that if you have received a booking form in the post you should return it as soon as possible. Although the Members' Priority deadline of 11th April has passed, some tickets have been reserved for members.
